RIVA MARKER is the president of Nine Stories, the production company she co-founded with Jake Gyllenhaal in 2015 to develop and produce for film, television and stage. Select film credits include Cary Fukunaga’s Peabody Award-winning Beasts of No Nation, which became Netflix’s first acquisition; Academy Award-nominated The Kids Are All Right; David Gordon Green’s Stronger; Paul Dano’s directorial debut Wildlife, What Maisie Knew; and Michael Showalter’s sleeper hit Hello, My Name is Doris. Recent Broadway and off-Broadway credits include: the 2017 revival of Stephen Sondheim’s Pulitzer Prize-winning masterpiece Sunday in the Park with George, starring Gyllenhaal and Tony winner Annaleigh Ashford; Nick Payne and Simon Stephens’ Sea Wall / A Life, starring Gyllenhaal and Tom Sturridge; We’re Only Alive For A Short Amount of Time by David Cale at The Public Theatre; and Jeremy O. Harris’ groundbreaking Slave Play at the John Golden Theatre.
