Priya Amritraj is Vice President of Film & Television for the Hyde Park Entertainment Group sourcing, developing, and supervising the Hyde Park slate for Film, TV, Digital, and Global Content.
Priya is passionate about the representation of diverse and female-driven stories, working across the Hyde Park slate and having brought in projects in this vein including the sweeping love story THE LIGHT WE LOST, based on the New York Times Bestseller and Reese Witherspoon Book Pick, set up at Apple and to be directed by Mimi Leder; the major Indian-American animated musical PASHMINA, based on the New York Times Bestseller, set up at Netflix and to be directed by Gurinder Chadha; the adaptation of the incendiary new Richard Wright novel THE MAN WHO LIVED UNDERGROUND, set up at Paramount in partnership with Kenya Barris’ Khalabo Ink Society; the sci-fi identity drama PROXY to be directed by celebrated filmmaker Kornél Mundruczó; and more.
She’s also developing a wide range of film and TV projects with both emerging talent and celebrated directors and writers in addition to the above such as Werner Herzog, Paul Feig, Ramin Bahrani, Zoya Akhtar, Kevin Willmott, Barbara Kopple, and more.
Before Hyde Park, Priya worked in the creative development space at Participant Media, as well as on CHANCE OF A LIFETIME, a filmmaking series in partnership with the United Nations following a group of diverse documentary filmmakers which aired on National Geographic and Participant TV. Priya studied Film and Media at Pomona College.
