Amy is a writer for film, theater, and television, and an advocate for women in the workplace. She is currently on the writing staff for ABC’s The Conners. Amy’s screenplays include Equity and Heights, both of which premiered as feature films at the Sundance Film Festival and were distributed by Sony Pictures Classics. Her plays include The Club and One Thing I Like to Say Is.

Amy’s previous feature screenplay, for the Merchant Ivory film Heights, starring Glenn Close and Elizabeth Banks, also premiered at Sundance (2005) and was released by SPC. Fox’s plays have been produced by theaters in New York, including the Ensemble Studio Theater and Clubbed Thumb, and have been seen in London, Tehran, San Francisco, Austin, and St. Paul. Her work has been recognized by The Alfred P. Sloan Foundation, The Susan Smith Blackburn Prize, The Kilroys, and Women’s Image Network.  Amy is an Arts Professor in the Graduate Film School  at NYU, and lives in Brooklyn with her husband and two children. She is originally from Boulder, Colorado.
