Sofia Sondervan is an Oscar Nominated Film and Television producer. She most recently produced the Academy Award nominated The Letter Room by Elvira Lind and starring Oscar Isaac which was an official selection at the 2020 Telluride, Tribeca and Palm Springs Film Festivals. She developing and Executive Producing the the limited series Provenance by Matthew Brown (The Man Who Knew Infinity). She is also an Executive Producer on the Fox Network limited series Daylight based on the bestselling Dutch novel by Marion Pauw and written by Denise Hahn (On the Spectrum) which is currently in development. Previously, she produced The Man Who Knew Infinity starring Dev Patel and Jeremy Irons, London Town, starring Jonathan Rhys Meyers, and Urge, starring Pierce Brosnan. Stella, the film she wrote and directed played at film festivals around the world. Other productions include Bringing Up Bobby directed by Famke Janssen (X-Men) and starring Milla Jovovich and the History Channel series The Men Who Built America. Prior to that she headed up Sony Music Film, where she produced Cadillac Records, (Sony Pictures) directed by Darnell Martin and starring Adrien Brody, Jeffrey Wright and Beyonce Knowles which was nominated for a Golden Globe, eight NAACP Image Awards, and won Best Picture at the Black Reel Awards. Sofia also produced TriStar’s Feel The Noise, with Jennifer Lopez, and acquired the award-winning Ghosts of Cite Soleil, directed by Asger Leth, The Future Is Unwritten, by Julien Temple, and East of Havana, produced by Charlize Theron. As Head of Production for ContentFilm, she produced the feature films The Hebrew Hammer, Rick, The King and Party Monster, while also working on The Cooler and Thank You For Smoking. A native of The Netherlands, Sofia graduated with honors from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts with a BFA in Film and Television. She is a member of the Producers Guild of America and New York Women in Film & Television. She teaches Producing in the Undergraduate and Graduate Departments of New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts.
